The incident had started innocently enough during morning exercises. The day started as every day at Xavier’s School for the Gifted, with a brisk, dangerous, team mission in the Danger Room. Cyclops had ordered the small cadre of Blue Team members into the mission at five in the morning. The team consisted of Cyclops, the team leader, Jean Grey, his redheaded wife and spitfire, Wolverine, the animalistic weapon of the team, Jubilee, the young asian student, Rogue, the team’s powerhouse, and Gambit, the cajun thief.

The mission was simple attack and deflect. Cyclops had programmed in waves. The team had their backs against a building, and groups of attackers would try to get past them, the mission being that they wouldn’t. The first wave was easy enough, about twenty Friends of Humanity fanatics with fork-pitches and torches. Wolverine was the first to attack, of course. Six, foot long knives, unsheathed themselves from the back of his hands, three each. He launched himself at the group, taking roughly twelve out with his first lunge. As he was finishing the other eight, a streak of crimson energy arched over his shoulder.
